Unstable Unicorns Game Rules

Start with a Baby Unicorn in your Barn and start building your Unicorn Army. Each Magic Unicorn comes with a special power, but don’t underestimate the power of the basic Unicorn! Use Upgrades and Downgrades to protect and build your barn. Instant cards prevent other players from placing cards, so they’ll be your best friend or your worst enemy.

• 13 cards Unicorn
• 22 basic Unicorn cards
• 30 Magical Unicorn cards
• 23 magic cards
• 8 downgrade cards
• 14 upgrade cards
• 14 instant cards

The object of the game

The first person to have the required number of unicorns in their Stabilization wins! Everyone must bow before them. They will hereafter be known as the Righteous Rulers of All things on topqa.info at least until the next match.

• 3-5 players: 7 Unicorns to win
• 6- 8 players: 6 Unicorns to win

Establish

Gather all Baby Unicorns from the deck and place 1 in each player’s Cage. Place the rest of the Baby Unicorn on a stack. This will be your Incubator. Shuffle the remaining cards and deal 5 to each player. The rest of the stack will be your Draw. Whoever wears the most colors is clearly the unicorn, so they go first!

Play game

The turns go clockwise around the table, and each turn is made up of 4 stages.

• Start your turn If any of your cards have an effect that occurs “at the beginning of your turn”, you can use that effect now. If you forget to do it before drawing, you will miss using that effect.
• Draw PhaseDraw 1 card from Draw Pile.
• Action phase
  • Play 1 card from your hand. OR
  • Withdraw 1 more card from Withdrawal.
• End your TurnDiscard down to the hand limit. (If you are holding more than 7 cards).

Types of Cards

You can only summon more by using special cards!

What happens if you run out of cards?

If you are a parasite, the game is over when you run out of cards. If no one completes their Army of Unicorns, no one can become the righteous Ruler of all things magical. The rules say no, but you just don’t care. You are a rebel. Good for you. If you are the Baby Unicorn, the game ends when you flip the table. Don’t be a unicorn. You are better than that.
