How to make homemade grape juice
Certainly one of the things I look forward to most in the fall is visiting a winery in the valley, picking a bunch of grapes, then making my own grape juice with them. However, I never get juice from the store, so this 12-month period is after I’ve been making our grape juice for 12 months. I have to say, I discovered that home made grape juice is completely superior to retail store purchase. One reason why you should use so many different types of grapes for juicing and several types of grapes for juicing is that MAGICAL is appropriate. My favorite grapes for juicing are Reliance and Himrod. Reliance is a pretty purplish/pink table grape (pictured below) that is super delicious and then requires no added sugar. The juice from these grapes has a beautiful dusty pink color and has a sweet, notably floral taste. Himrod is a white wine grape and makes an INCREDIBE juice that, like Reliance, is good enough without the added sugar and ultimately produces the best champagne color. The Harmony grape is definitely a familiar pressed grape with a certain flavor and dark purple color. While I just love Harmony, it’s not a favorite just because I discovered it wanted to add a lot of sugar to form enough candy to drink.
