If you find Marlena Evans doesn’t act like herself in OUR DAY ALIVE, it’s probably Hattie Adams! If you’re a soap novice you might be wondering who this looks like, that’s where we come in! The character was first introduced in 2000 and was originally played by Andrea Hall, the real-life twin sister of DAYS star Deidre Hall. However, when the character appeared later in 2004, the role was taken by Deidre and she has continued to play Hattie ever since. they look very similar. Also noting the similarity, villain Stefano DiMera had his henchmen approach Hattie to convince her to visit Dr. Rolf and get plastic surgery to look more like Marlena. After being fired from her job at the diner, Hattie tried to take her own life and Roman Brady rescued her. Even more jealous of successful doctor Evans, Hattie underwent surgery and Rolf taught her to be a proper woman so she could fool Roman into thinking she was Marlena. However, the plan never really came to fruition, and Stefano ordered Rolf not to hurt Hattie when he wanted to silence her just to be on the safe side.Hope is grateful to have Hattie in prison. Hattie is also grateful to learn that Hope killed Stefano, as he should have sent her money to restore her original face but never did. Hattie explains that she has a crush on a man named Alfi who embezzles money, and Hope realizes he is actually Andre DiMera. Hattie helped Hope escape from prison, and the police returned the favor by revealing evidence to clear Hattie’s name. so Hattie could take over the little one’s life. She broke up with John and tried to start a relationship with Roman, which made both men suspicious. John followed Hattie to the mental hospital and discovered Marlena, so Hattie locked the two together. When Anjelica died suddenly, Hattie dressed her in Bonnie Lockhart’s robe and laid her on the bed next to a drunken Lucas. When Andre asked “Marlena” to verify his sanity, Hattie took advantage of the situation to publicly humiliate him for revenge. She was ordered to take him to Bayview, but her plan fell through when she tried to leave town and Hope stopped her, after realizing who she really was. Hattie briefly reappeared in February 2018 when she was one of the suspects when Andre was found dead.

But Hattie blackmailed John into marrying her, and he tries to get out of it, even trying to convince Roman to lure her away. Hattie doesn’t love it, but after the guilt hits, she agrees to divorce John and even convinces Bonnie to go back to prison with her. Hattie remains in prison and taunts Eve Donovan about being locked up with her. But as Christmas approaches, both women find themselves freed at last. Hattie asks Marlena to raise her in exchange for her life, then convinces Roman to let her work as a bartender at Brady’s.
