This glow-in-the-dark planter is so pretty and so easy to make! Choose a special spot in your garden or yard (perhaps even your fairy garden) where you want to hang the glowing lights that pour out of the watering can. It’s gorgeous and unique!

Materials for making watering cans with lights

• Fresh water sickness like these ones With detachable shower head. Here’s a trick (and I’ve tried this wrong before LOL), make sure the watering can is big enough. If it is too small, it will be nearly impossible to get the light in properly.

Fairy Lights – This set of lights is perfect and this one too (prices change frequently!).
Shepard’s Hook like this or a flower basket hanger like this
Screwdriver (or optional tool) to widen the hole in the watering can’s shower head. If the holes in your watering can are big enough for a light to shine through, you’re good to go! However, the two watering cans I’ve tried doing this both need to widen the holes.

How to make a watering can with lights

Gently remove the shower head from the watering can and set it aside.Using a screwdriver (or tool of your choice), make the holes larger on the shower head of the watering can. In my case I extended 9 holes. Place the lights inside the watering can and push them up and out of the hose.One by one, pass the fairy lights over the shower head.Gently place the shower head back into the watering can. Hang the watering can on the hook. “Toss” the lights on your garden or plan so they look like they are all going in the same direction. Turn on the lights and enjoy!I JUST LOVE the way it lights up the flowers in my growing up garden! I love to have fun with my garden so I always mix things up just to make it beautiful. Currently, we are growing small pumpkins (on the right) for the fall, as well as green onions, mini roses and some other colorful flowers. From any angle it looks PERFECT. My kids are mesmerized by the lights and they think it looks like magic. It really does! I would love to figure out how to make a smaller version of the fairy garden. How magic will be?
