Rooting Guide

Enable Developer Options on your phone by going to Settings >> About phone >> tapping Build number 7 times until you see the toast message “You are now a developer” .

Now in Developer Options you also need to enable OEM USB Unlock and USB Debugging.

Download and install ADB and Fastboot tools in your PC.

Paste the downloaded TWRP recovery image file into the ADB folder.

Connect your OnePlus 5/5T to your PC using a USB cable.

Open a command prompt in the ADB folder.

Now you need to boot your phone in Fastboot mode using the Power Button.

When the device is in Fastboot mode, make sure that the connection is proper by entering the command below in CMD: fastboot devices

To unlock your phone’s bootloader enter the command below: fastboot oem unlock

On your phone, you’ll see a warning message about unlocking the bootloader. Select the option Unlock Bootloader with volume keys.

Unlocking the bootloader will erase all data. So make sure that you have a full backup of your data.

The phone will reboot.

After the phone reboots, enable Developer Options again and in Developer Options enable USB Debugging and OEM unlock as shown above.

Boot the phone into Fastboot mode to flash TWRP recovery.

In the command prompt, enter the command below to flash TWRP: fastboot flash recovery (Recovery name) .img (here (Recovery name) means the name of the TWRP image file.

The device will boot into TWRP recovery.

Now you need to format the data by typing YES in TWRP recovery, click the blue checkmark.

Once the format is done, tap Restart and select Restore.

Now you can flash Magisk and reboot.
