S’mores are one of the quintessential summer desserts. They are the perfect camping dessert, along with the Skillet Peach Cobbler. But they are also delicious when grilled over the fireplace or even made inside. Preheating the oven can be a bit too much in the summer. I understand that. Recently someone asked me if it’s safe to bake marshmallows on a gas stove? Yes, as long as you use your common sense. Roasted marshmallows on the stove are delicious.And you can completely roast them through an electric or gas stove. Just be sure to 1. keep the burner on only when you are cooking the marshmallows 2. Hold the marshmallows about an inch or more away from the coil or the flame. Yes, they can burn and catch on fire quickly if you cook through the coils of an electric stove.

And if you use a baking sheet – it can blister and burn. Turn the oven on to the grill setting. Prepare all of your ingredients so they are ready to use when your hot marshmallows come out of the oven. Order 2 large mashmallow on a baking tray covered with a baking sheet or parchment paper. Place your baking tray in the oven, checking often to see if it’s done baking. They can cook quickly depending on your oven. If they turn brown too quickly, leave the oven door open about an inch. Remove when they have reached your desired browning.
