The best way to heat up a Big Mac

Contents

The best way to heat up a Big Mac is in a frying pan. Separate the lettuce and pancakes, and place both patties in a frying pan over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of water to the pan and cover. Fry for 1-2 minutes, then bake separately. Assemble and serve immediately after reheating.

A note on my testing

I bought 4 Big Macs from my local McDonald’s and kept them in the fridge for a few hours before testing. I reheated each Big Mac separately in the pan, oven, microwave, and air fryer. I have made my judgments based on the following:

  • How refreshing the Big Mac tastes and feels (think of the texture of the vermicelli, how it’s seasoned, and if the meat isn’t too dry)
  • How easy it is to reheat a Big Mac (let’s face it, we don’t want a recipe for reheating a bit of leftover McDonalds…)

Just feel the stiffness and oldness of the Big Mac’s top bun before you microwave it. Once fully reheated, the bread will be very pliable and soft. Almost like magic! Note – do not wrap the damp paper towel too tightly at the bottom of the Big Mac. If you do, you’ll end up with a soggy bottom bun. I learned this the hard way.
