First things first, get your free pattern and cut it out on 65# Black Cardstock. I use Cricut Explore for all my cuts. And the SVG for this snowman hat is included if you have a cutter. The SVG will crop onto a 12×12 piece of cardboard. However, when you upload it somewhere like the Cricut design space, be sure to click the attach button. Otherwise, Cricut will place it on two different plates. If you’re cutting your snowman hat by hand, don’t worry, a PDF template is also available. The PDF can be printed on two sheets of standard size paper, there are three pieces for the snowman hat pattern So, once you’ve finished cutting your pattern, take the long rectangular piece and use hot glue or vertical glue along one of the short edges. Next, take the top piece of the hat and fold the tabs down.Apply glue to one of the tabs and stick it inside the cylinder.Work your way around the top, applying a dot of glue to each tab and gluing it to the inside of the cylinder. When you’re done pasting, it should look something like this.Now we will do the same thing with the bottom pattern piece. First fold all the tabs and then glue the tabs to the inside bottom of the snowman hat.

Now that you’ve assembled your snowman hat, it’s time to make it look good! Start with taking a black marker and paint over all the white edges where the paper is cut. This really helps clean it up and gives it a finished look.Next stick your ribbon around the bottom base of the snowman hat. And I wanted to decorate my snowman hat a bit more so I added some fake snow.To add fake snow use a paintbrush and draw randomly on the podge mod everywhere you want snow. I put a number on the bottom brim and top of the hat. And then I just picked a few random locations, next sprinkled fake snow everywhere you added the podge mod.I think it turned out great, right?I put this hat on a globe snowman that I made.
