The new GM HD trucks – the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD and the 2020 GMC Sierra HD – will be offered in 2500HD and 3500HD models. The trucks will offer two engine choices: an all-new 6.6-liter V8 L8T petrol engine with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque as standard. The familiar Duramax 6.6L V8 L5P turbo-diesel engine, with 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque, is optional. The V8 petrol engine will be mated to GM’s 6L90 6-speed automatic transmission while the Duramax diesel engine will be mated to an Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission. Chevy will offer 5 levels: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ and High Country. Likewise, GMC will offer five trim types: base, SLE, SLT, AT4, and Sierra HD Denali. The lineup will include 2500HD and 3500HD capability variants, Normal, Double Cab and Crew Cabin models, as well as Standard and Long boxes. Two chassis chassis lengths will also be offered.
