How To Make A Round Throw Pillow
Aside from fur items, I’ve always thought that velvet is the most luxurious looking fabric. Especially when it’s brightly colored so you can really see the different ways, it’s more shimmering in the light, ugh, it’s beautiful. The stitching on the velvet gives it a “floating” look and it’s an easy way to add a bit of texture and interest to a simple round pillow. I’ll show you how!
Munition: -1/2 yard of velvet fabric (something like this would be great) -velvet cutter matching color range -ruler-weight pin-stuffing Read: how to make a round throw pillow Read extra: how to stop spinning circle Fold your fabric in half, pin together and draw or draw a large circle onto your fabric (I made mine 16 inches wide). Cut your circle so that you have two identical circles.
Take one of your circles and use a ruler and pen to draw a line down the center of the circle on the back of the canvas (you can fold the circle in half to find the half mark). Draw another line that divides your circle into 4 equal parts. Continue drawing lines that bisect your parts until you have 16 equal parts. 
Thread your sewing machine with thread of the right color and sew each of them, and when you turn the fabric over, you will see a floating pinwheel design.
Pin your top circle piece with your bottom circle piece (right sides together) and sew all the way around the edge, leaving a 2-3 inch gap. 
Use that opening to turn the right side of the pillow out and tuck the item into the pillow. Close the pillow opening with a closed stitch.
Thread a needle and find the center of the back of your pillow. Thread the needle through the front, making sure the needle also passes through the center of the front piece. Pass over to the back again, gently pull the thread to draw a little in the center of the pillow, and then tie the knot. 
Cut your thread and you’re done! 
Such a simple shape but so beautiful! You don’t have to draw in the center of the pillow like in the last step, but I think it helps define embossed lines with slight wrinkles occurring. If you want the seams to stand out a little more, simply choose a thread that is much lighter or darker than your velvet color and you’ll accentuate the pinwheel effect more. Overall, this is a super easy pillow to make, but the embossed lines make it seem a bit more special that only a round pillow would have (you can also buy one like this if you like it). not a DIY fan or you can go for a larger floor pillow version!).
