How to Get Rid of Sore Throat using Garlic

- Peel off 2 – 4 garlic cloves and crush them slightly.
Then start sucking these cloves like cough drop for few minutes.
Be sure to chew occasionally to release the garlic juice into the mouth.
Continue doing the same process throughout the day for 3 – 4 times until you got relief from sore throat along with its symptoms.
Note:
- If it tastes too strong to consume, then microwave 2 – 4 garlic cloves for 10 – 15 seconds to reduce the intensity of taste.
Allicin is released naturally when you cut, crush or chew a garlic clove. So, prefer to use the natural garlic rather than using garlic extracts for sore throat.
Initially, start this garlic treatment by placing a slice of garlic clove in each cheek and suck it for few minutes.
Method – 2: (Garlic Oil Gargle)
Gargle with garlic water or oil can give relief from sore throat, cold, cough and other respiratory problems.
Steps to be followed…
- Add 3 – 5 drops of garlic oil in 1/4 glass of warm water.
Stir it well and use this water to gargle for 30 seconds.
Make sure to spit out the water after gargling to remove the germs along with impurities.
Repeat the gargling process for 3 – 4 times a day on regular basis.

- Or simply boil few crushed garlic cloves in a glass of water and then add salt to it. Let it cool for few minutes and use this mix for doing gargle in your mouth.
Alternatively, mince garlic into olive or coconut oil and let it steep for 15 – 20 minutes. Then apply this oil to the bottom of your feet at night before bed time and wear socks. Leave it for overnight to clear cold and sore throat.
Method – 3: (Garlic with Honey)
Honey and garlic have antibacterial, antiseptic and soothing properties that give you a faster relief from sore throat along with its symptoms.
Steps to be followed…
- Take 3 garlic cloves and mince it finely.
Stir it well by adding 1/2 cup of organic honey.
Pour this mix in an airtight container and cover it with a tight lid.
Leave it on for overnight without disturbing it.
After that, add 1 teaspoon of this mix in 1 cup of hot water.
Mix well and drink it to get rid of sore throat.
Drinking 3 cups per day on regular basis will definitely prevent sore throat.

- Or you can also eat garlic cloves that are soaked in raw honey.
Simply use olive oil in the honey – garlic mix to neutralize the smell and spread this mix on the top of a small bread slice and consume it.
Alternatively, steep some raw minced garlic in apple cider vinegar for overnight and use this vinegar as a dressing to reduce the effect of cold, flu and sore throat.
Or else fill the jar with garlic cloves (from 3 garlic buds) and pour honey over the garlic till the jar gets filled. Let it sit for few days to get infused properly and then consume those garlic cloves (6 per day) till you recovered from sore throat. Also, use the leftover honey as a cough syrup.
Method – 4: (Garlic Tea)
In this process, garlic acts as immune booster, lemon has vitamin C and antibacterial property that clear the bacterial action and honey soothes the sore throat.
Steps to be followed…
- Crush 3 garlic cloves and place in a cup.
Add 1 cup of boiling water over these cloves.
Allow it to steep for about 7 – 10 minutes.
Then strain the garlic cloves and add freshly squeezed juice from 1/2 a lemon and 1 teaspoon of honey in it.Mix well and sip this garlic tea to heal sore throat.
Regular consumption of this garlic tea for 3 – 4 times throughout the day will give best results.
