Method how to remove iron on patches
Hot iron method:
Place iron or protective towel on flat surface. Turn the iron on to the highest setting suitable for the fabric you will be working with. Place wax paper or cheesecloth over a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric. Press the iron into the paper or fabric for at least 15 seconds. Lift up the protective cover to see if your item’s fabric is scorched. If a hot iron damages the fabric, do not use the hot iron method. Try the adhesive removal method instead. If the fabric looks good, proceed with the hot ironing method. Cover the patch with wax paper or a thin cloth. Press the covered patch with a hot iron for at least 15 seconds. Lift the cap and check the edge of the patch to see if the adhesive has softened. Cover and heat with an iron if the glue has not come off yet. Buy fabric-safe liquid glue remover. Test the bleach on a small, inconspicuous area of fabric. Apply a small amount of detergent to the fabric, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse. If the product fades the fabric, do not continue. If the fabric seems smooth after exposure to bleach, follow these steps to learn how to remove iron stains from the patch. Turn the garment or inner bag inside out to reveal the fabric behind the patch. Working over the sink, pour or spray the glue remover onto the fabric behind the sticker. Use your fingers or a rag to rub the liquid into the fabric. After about a minute, check to see if the patch will peel off or partially peel off. If part of the patch comes off, cut it with scissors. Dab glue remover on the rest. Use your finger or a rag for one minute. Scrub off stubborn residue with an old toothbrush. Once all dirt is gone, pre-treat the area with liquid laundry detergent. Put the item through a wash cycle as usual. If it comes out of the washing machine with any residue, do not put it in the dryer. Do another application of adhesive remover instead.
