Essentials for your baby turban
- Knitted fabric (I like 95% Cotton 5% Lycra)
- Eloflex Thread (here’s my secret to prevent seams from popping)
- Scissors or Rotary Cutter & Mat
- Sewing machine
- Clip or Pin
- Iron / ironing board
- Knitted fabric (I like 95% Cotton 5% Lycra)
- Baby hat pattern (choose one or two top knots)
This guide has been updated to include a downloadable sewing pattern in sizes Newborn, 3-6 Months, 6-12 Months, 12-18 Months, 18-24 Months and 2 Years old. , I recommend downsizing on this model for a good fit.

STEP 1: Download the baby turban hat pattern
Download the Baby Turban Hat template and print it Read more: how to tell if an older woman likes you Download the template to your computer and print it at 100% without scaling. I like to print my pattern on cardboard so it lasts for many uses. Align the stars of each page and stick the tape in place. Then, cut the pattern to the size you want to sew.
STEP 2: Cut off the hat and bow
Place the baby turban patterns on top of a folded piece of knit fabric with the largest horizontal stretch of the pattern and cut them out.
STEP 3: Pin the fabric together and sew
Clip or staple two pieces of hat pattern fabric right sides together. Repeat this step with the bow. Use a seam that allows 3/8 inch, leaving a small hole about 1 inch from the bottom of the hat about 2 inches. You can refer to this pattern for marking, which when sewn together leaves an inch open on the bow as well for convenience.
Turn the bow and the hat right side out after sewing.
STEP 4: Press and sew the hem
Fold the bottom of the hat 1/2 inch up with the sides not facing each other, and hem the hat by sewing all the way around the hat with an extended stitch.
STEP 5: Attach the bow
Fold the fabric to the opening and clamp it with your hand while you pull the bow into the opening with your other hand.
