Document cameras can replace projectors and other tools you’re used to because it allows you to create digital projections of any type of document. With many people now working from home, the popularity of Google Meet has increased because it helps you organize online meetings in real time. Not only do I show teachers how the right camera can help them, but I also teach you how to use it with Google Meet. Steps to set up a document camera to use Google Meet

Step 1

Connect the document camera to the computer you will be using. Most of these cameras come with a cord that you plug into a port on the side or back of the camera. You’ll plug the opposite end into one of your computer’s open ports.

Step 2

Open Google Chrome. While you can use other web browsers, Google Meet works best with Chrome. It may take a few seconds for your browser to open.

Step 3

Go to Google and find the Meet icon to open it. This icon looks like a small camera in Google colors, but it may look different on your computer based on recent updates. If you’re not signed in to the Google account or the one you want to use for your meeting, you’ll need to sign in before viewing my next steps.

Step 4

Click on the “Settings” option, you will find it in the upper right corner. If you haven’t used the app, you need to give it access to your camera.

Step 5

Read more: how to disable samsung keyboard sound Find the “Video” menu between the “Sound” and “General” settings. Click this menu to display a list of all the cameras connected to your computer. Although it may list your webcam first, your document camera will appear in the list.

Step 6

Click on your document camera from the options listed to use it with the app. You’ll also want to check out the options listed to let Google know that you’ve always wanted to use the camera. Step 7

This is an optional step if you have a document camera with a built-in microphone. Click the “Sound” option in the settings menu. Go through the list to find your camera and select it as the microphone you want to use. You also have the option to use Meet with your computer’s microphone. Google allows you to perform tests to make sure the microphones and speakers are working properly before your meeting.

Step 8

Place your document in a bright and clear place with your camera on it. Compare the image you see on the screen with the document to make sure it’s clear enough for others to see. You should always check live images before holding or attending a meeting.

Step 9

Click the “Present Now” option to share your document. Using Google Meet with different document cameras

If you have an ELMO document camera, use a USB cable to connect the camera to your computer. You can then get the Google Meet app and select the “Settings” menu and then the “Video” menu. Click your webcam to turn it off, and then click your ELMO camera to let Google know that you want to use it. The camera will automatically find the document you’ve placed underneath it and display it in the app.For the IPEVO document camera, go to the IPEVO website and search for the Visualizer software. You will see a software download link on the homepage. Double-click the software after it loads to open it. Find the camera source option and select your IPEVO model. This tells Google Meet that you want to use it with the app. You need to do this every time you work with Google Meet.HUE offers several cameras suitable for online meetings. While you can download a PDF guide to using these cameras on Google Meet, I’ll show you the steps to help you when you don’t have access to that guide. Start by opening Google Chrome and clicking the Google Meet icon. Then you should go to settings and look for camera settings. Go through the list displayed to find your HUE camera. When you click it, you tell the app that you want to use that camera in your meeting.
