How to sew spaghetti straps: The traditional method
You will need:
Begin!First, fold the right sides of the strap together and sew using the allowable seam provided in the pattern. Then, most importantly, cut your seam allowance to 1/8″ (0.3mm).Then trim the allowable portion of the seam at one end inclined towards the raw edge. I recommend staying within the rough edge seam tolerance in case your stitches start to loosen a bit. This is an important step. It will make turning your head a lot easier. Next, get your Dritz Loop Turner. Notice how it has a small hook at one end, with a pointed hook being a movable part. Open this hook. Now we’ll deliver this whole thing through your strap. Now, this part can seem a bit intimidating the first time you do it. You’ll want to poke the sharp end of that clasp within the seam allowance of the raw edge of the raw end of the strap. This secures the end of the strap to the end of the Dritz Loop Turner. Now is when the magic begins…As you begin to pull the Dritz Loop Turner back through the strap, make sure the top hook catches on the raw edge of the end of the strap. This will keep the fabric from sticking together as you begin to turn the right side of the strap outwards. Read more: how to start a mold treatment business. Begin pulling the Dritz Loop Turner down through the strap. Making the edge raw to turn is the hardest part. Since you cut the allowable seam edge at an angle, it should turn fairly easily without much trouble.Keep pulling until your strap turns from the inside out.You are done! Now look at those beautiful, gorgeous little straps with NO stitches! You did it! Still a little worried that turning those tiny straps is harder than it seems? Check out the video above that I made to show how quick and easy it is to turn those straps around when you have the right tools! Still not convinced? Does the thought of making something small bother you? Try our cheat method below!
