How To Propagate String Of Hearts

Video How to breed a chain of hearts This work falls under the “just try it” category. The majority of my livestock initiatives require a degree of initiative and some “why not,” and in many cases that’s good enough. So I’m just encouraging myself at the moment. But anyway, good things… We have a beautiful Chain of Hearts (Ceropegia woodii) hanging in the north window above our kitchen sink. It absolutely loves this location. However, trying to make dishes with grape leaves stuck in the sink makes the job harder than it should be. In order not to discourage the main dish of the family (and not myself), I need to regularly prune this crop.

I cut the first hairstyle for Mr. Hearts frantically cleans the kitchen (certainly not in garden mode), but doesn’t want to just toss the decorations. So I filled a glass with tap water and put some string in it. About 2 weeks later, adolescent roots appeared on one of the sinks. And they are still alive! And develop!

Propaganda second round

Encouraged by my first success, I stuffed the entire pile of debris from my second pruning job into a small glass full of water. This brute force effort also seems to work, with rootlets sprouting from a good portion of the vines. I suppose I could have gotten better results with more preparation (rooting hormone? Grow lights?). But I’m not too worried about that – given the way this plant grows, I think we’ll have a Chain of Hearts coming out soon.

This implementation shows a composite of images from both the second round of testing and propagation. My end goal is to have some specimens to hang in the solarium, where now (sadly) there are no plants. I plan to update this post with (hopefully) photos of the String of Hearts babies going strong in the coming months. GuardiansStep 4: Let them grow! This is clearly not the only way to propagate this easy-care plant – I’ve read about using tubers that grow on creepers but I haven’t seen one yet. And none of the seeds come from a single flower that our plants produced this summer. Until then, the root method seems easy! Stay tuned for updates on how the cuttings are working. Update: Spring 2019

I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 years since my original post, wow. Anyhoo, I’ve had great success with breeding and also thanks to a suggestion from a lovely commenter I’m sharing some pictures! There were some twists and turns and also drama (see photo caption below for details), but I ended up with 3 separate potted plants. I honestly think I could have more by now if I had tried, but my attention seems to wander a bit with so many cultivars out there to buy and also try. I wish your breed was performing at a minimum (or much better) than mine! [icegram campaigns=”2215″]Read more: how to invest money in uae | Top Q&A
