How To Play House Of Terror Vr
House of Terror is by far one of the best looking vr horror games for Google Cardboard. Unlike Silent Home, for example, House of Terror definitely feels a lot more independent. However, it’s also a clear example of how looks can be quite deceiving. While the graphics are absolutely amazing for a Google Cardboard game, it’s not immersive at all. When I played it with my Samsung Galaxy S2, I could hardly enjoy it and ended up just watching the video playing this game.
Why is it not immersive?

When playing House of Terror with a regular smartphone and a Google Cardboard headset, you will most likely experience double vision. It feels almost as if you are passing through your eyes. The game also does not support magnetic trigger. And since I happen to have an older Cardboard model, I had to use the opening around the nose to reach the screen. For what it’s worth, I don’t blame the developers for that. The magnetic trigger is very unreliable anyway. Because the developer most likely didn’t use the official Google Cardboard SDK to create this game. As a result, it lacks both vignette effects and barrel distortion. Features come together inside a Cardboard headset for complete immersion. Contrary to popular belief, simply splitting the screen will not cut it. No pun intended. House of Terror: WalkthroughYou start from a small kitchen. The door directly to your right will take you to a living room with a nasty spider. Unless you want to enjoy the view, just walk straight ahead, across the sink, keeping an eye out for the broken glass on the floor. Now open the door on the right and enter a short hallway. The door on the left here takes you into the bathroom. There’s not much to see here other than a pram and lots of broken bricks. Continue walking forward in the hallway. Go straight, past the shelf, broken wall and right after the picture you will come to an open point with stairs leading upstairs. Unfortunately, you cannot go up the stairs because there is a monster in the way. It will fall from the ceiling when you try to climb the stairs (notice jumpscare). It will also kill you if you touch it!
The door is locked
When you look over the stairs on the right side, you will see a notice. It’s the key icon with the message that the basement door is locked. You will need to find a key! If you like, you can have another look at the living room that I mentioned earlier. From the stair room, you will have a better view of that nasty spider. It can also kill you, but only if you touch it. It’s not really jumping on you or anything. Would be great…Read more: How to beat the kirin monster hunter world Never mind the double doors at the other end of the stair room. They are securely locked. Instead, continue along the short hallway with three white doors on each wall at the end. The door on the left wall takes you to a storage room that contains nothing interesting but a few boxes and broken things. You can look through the hole in the wall if you want.
Where’s the key?
The door on the other side, or right side of the hallway wall is of more interest to us. It led us to a garage with an old car inside. Remember the hole in the floor right in front of another door. Thorns will come out of these and they will kill you. Instead, look to your right and you should see a switch somewhere on the wall with a “Tap” icon on it. This time they will stay there because you just powered off. You are now free to walk over the threshold into a smaller room with a pile of old stuff like shovels, a few boxes, and a moonlit window.Take the key and go back to the stairs. Go through the stairs and unlock the basement door with the key you just found, go down to the basement and see an old photo on the shelf. Doing this effectively will end the first chapter and you’ll get to see a cutscene of a girl standing in front of a dead guy with a knife in his hand.
chapter 2
After the cutscene, you’re back in control in what looks like the same basement. Go back and (announce jumpscare) you will see a spooky little girl standing on the stairs.Read more: how to tie air max 97 | Top Q&ADon’t be afraid to approach her because when you do, she’ll just turn around and fly up the stairs through the door. She won’t really hurt you, but if the volume is loud enough, the sound effects can scare you. Follow her through the door and you’ll notice that the environment has changed. Now you are in what appears to be a corridor of a abandoned school There are closets on either side of the wall. Unfortunately, this is where the free chapter ends, and of course where this tutorial will also end.*EDIT* An eager reader, Jay, pointed out that the free-to-play game will in fact continue from this point on. Review of House of Terror: Valerie’s Revenge
As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, the game is not half as immersive as other similar games like Silent Home, for example. Or my own little side project called Haunted Motel. (I will write an article on that shortly). There’s a reason why game developers making apps for Google Cardboard should use the official SDK, and that’s because it is meant to be used! When you simply split your screen and expect it to work everywhere, you will be very disappointed. I can’t say anything bad about the 3D modeling, the rooms and the overall atmosphere in the game. It’s all very well done and clearly shows the dedication to detail. Read more: how to play gba game on TV
