Everything is better with glitter, the right? At least during the holidays! Sparkling vinyl is the answer to making these glitter decorations without a lot of mess (and sparkles EVERYWHERE)!I really like the rustic, homely feel of the forest decorations used in Cricut SVG. Using glitter vinyl gives it a bit of a charming rustic feel.
Reversible chalkboard holiday decorations
Painting these wood slices in a simple black and white creates a farmhouse look. Although it looks like an ornament on a blackboard, you are not actually using the chalkboard paint. Just plain acrylic paint.These are great because it doesn’t matter where the ornaments hang on the tree or whether they turn their heads while on the branch or not. DIY wooden decorations made of vinyl
No matter what kind of decorations you want to make, the process and ingredients are very similar. I’ve included materials and instructions for the glittering jungle animal ornaments below. Where appropriate, I’ve mentioned any changes to make decorations for holiday sayings reversible.
Material
- 3 slices of birch wood, diameter 2.25″ x ” thick
- White acrylic paint (Reverse decorations: Black paint)
- Paint brush
- Cricut Joy
- Cricut Joy standard grip pad (not required for Reversible Ornaments)
- Glitter Vinyl in Black and Blue (Reversible Ornaments: Smart Vinyl, Permanently White)
- Woodland Animals SVG file (or Reversible ornament SVG file)
- Weeder
- Scissors
- cricut transfer tape
- Glitter Decorative Ribbon, 1/4″ wide (Reverse ornament: filament and 1/8-inch wide decorative ribbon, plus glue)

Paint both sides of the parquet. Do not paint the bark on the outside. Let dry completely.Upload SVG File into Designspace.Read more: How to remove hair extensions? Gently rub the vinyl to help it stick to the transfer tape.Peel off the vinyl backing and place the image on one side of the parquet. Gently rub the vinyl to help it stick to the wood. You can use a Cricut scraper for this, if you want. Top Q&A Slowly peel off the transfer tape.* Or, peel off the glossy vinyl image of the baseplate and place it directly on the wood paneling without using tape. Repeat for the other wood slices. First, then stick the towel on top.Cut three pieces of ribbon (or twine) 9″ long. Insert the end of the ribbon through the hole in the top of the piece of wood and tie the ends together.For decorations for the holiday sayings, cut three 6-inch lengths of decorative ribbon. Tie into a small bow and glue the top of the ornament.
