How To Make Graduation Caps Out Of Fondant
I have two exciting things for you today… Graduation cupcakes and a happy announcement! Read: how to make graduation hats out of fondant Many of you, my lovely readers, have been asking for more cupcake decorating ideas and I listened! So if you know someone who graduated from preschool, middle school, high school, high school, or college, this is a great way to help them celebrate! And… nice announcement I’ve joined the TomKat Studio group as a regular contributor! I’ll add to that sweet combo with ideas for fun and pretty cakes, cupcakes and desserts. My fridge is full of butter and cream, and I can’t wait to get started! =)
For this Graduation cupcake set, I made some special fondant Graduation hats (full instructions below), covered some cupcakes with printable cardstock from The TomKat Studio, and decorate some cupcakes with a simple paper “diploma”. The diploma is made by rolling a simple white paper and tying it with a golden ribbon.

1. Color fondant as you like (more detailed instructions HERE). Roll in the fondant color you plan to use for the hat. and 4. Cut fondant into strips about 3/4 inch wide and 3 3/4 inch long.

7. Let the base (ring) and top (square) dry for a few hours or overnight. They must be completely solid before moving on to the next step. Once the pieces are dry, use a little “edible glue” – mix with a few tablespoons of powdered sugar and a little water (it should be the thickness of toothpaste) and apply with a (clean) brush along the top. edge of a ring.
