Guide:

First, draw a racerback shape onto your t-shirt with a marker or chalk. You can eyeball this or try it and have someone help you.DSC 0082 e1552964386264DSC 0031Next, cut about 1/2 inch beyond the line you drew (1/2 of this extra inch is your allowable seam).DSC 0301DSC 0304Then, on one of the arms, fold along the chalk line and pin it in place, hiding the rough edges inside the shirt. It will look something like this:DSC 0309DSC 0313Now we just need to make a small strip to pull the back into a racerback shape. To make the strap, cut a 4-inch x 5-inch rectangle from the leftover material from the sleeve.DSC 0319Then fold the rectangle in half with the right sides together (fold in the hamburger direction, so the two shorter sides 4 inches are lined up along the top). Pin the 4-inch ends together.DSC 0322Sew the end that you pinned to form the tube and cut the raw edges near the stitch.DSC 0323DSC 0325Now, turn the right side of the tube out so that the raw edges are hidden inside and iron it with the center seam. Like this:DSC 0326Now wrap this loop around the fabric at the back of the shirt with the OUTSIDE seam and pin the ends together. Just twist the circle so that the seam you see in the photo above is facing the inside of the shirt.DSC 0345And you’re done!DSC 0346Read more: how to add meta tags to godaddy website If you like this homemade racerback tank and want to stay up to date with all my new stuff, I would love for you to subscribe to my newsletter!
