Guide:
First, draw a racerback shape onto your t-shirt with a marker or chalk. You can eyeball this or try it and have someone help you.Next, cut about 1/2 inch beyond the line you drew (1/2 of this extra inch is your allowable seam). Then, on one of the arms, fold along the chalk line and pin it in place, hiding the rough edges inside the shirt. It will look something like this:Now we just need to make a small strip to pull the back into a racerback shape. To make the strap, cut a 4-inch x 5-inch rectangle from the leftover material from the sleeve. Then fold the rectangle in half with the right sides together (fold in the hamburger direction, so the two shorter sides 4 inches are lined up along the top). Pin the 4-inch ends together.Sew the end that you pinned to form the tube and cut the raw edges near the stitch. Now, turn the right side of the tube out so that the raw edges are hidden inside and iron it with the center seam. Like this:Now wrap this loop around the fabric at the back of the shirt with the OUTSIDE seam and pin the ends together.
