While the family made the funeral plans and all the other arrangements, my aunt and I were reminiscing as we looked at the pictures. Prepare the board for the photo

Some funeral homes will provide boards to use for photographs. If you are making your own board, cover the foam core with fabric. Choose a plain or patterned fabric so that it accentuates your photos and doesn’t detract from their quality. Fabric will be held easily with clear packing tape. The photos can then be attached with thumb clips, and remember to verify with the funeral home how many easels they have available. You don’t want to prepare a lot of tables, only to find that they can’t be displayed well.

Assemble the photo boards

Topic: Determine the theme you want for the board before piecing them together. This will help you categorize your photos and determine if you need more boards. By deciding this in advance, you won’t have to worry about it on the day of the funeral. We ordered this tarpaulin made at the local Walgreens and had it displayed next to my Aunt and Uncle’s board, along with their wedding album. (If you have time, I would recommend ordering photo prints from Easy Canvas Prints. They always sell well and are of good quality.)Transport: You’re better off putting the boards in a large trash bag so they don’t get damaged in transit. It will also keep them from being affected by any possible weather elements, like wind or rain.

Celebrate the one you love

While it can be overwhelming to go through the photos and assemble the photo boards, these displays are well worth the effort. They are appreciated by funeral attendees and are great conversation starters. The photo board is a great tribute to a love at a funeral.
