But here’s the thing guys, once you add your burlap mesh and ribbons it really becomes a 22 inch garland. And that’s not a little garland, there’s nothing clumsy here! There are a few benefits to using one of these little garlands. You’ll use fewer supplies, which helps keep costs down and allows you to sell these wreaths for a lower price. It’s a win for you and your customers! Fewer supplies also mean you’ll have leftovers and can easily create multiples. That’s a big win when you sell your wreath! If you want to learn more about how to create your multiple garland designs, I have a whole blog post about that. You can also send these wreaths in a smaller box to save on shipping costs. Who doesn’t love saving on shipping costs!? In the video, I was asked how to decide when to make my ribbon tails. You all know I love to share tips whenever I can so I wanted to make sure you got the hang of it! If I’m using the poof method for a decorative mesh wreath, all I do is take the poof size plus 4 inches. So if my feathers are 8 inches, I add 4 and make the ribbon tail 12 inches long. If I’m using the ruffle method (like I do in this video), I make 10-inch ruffles, so I cut the tail of the 14-inch ribbon. The calculations are easy to do, you just need to add 4 to get the perfect ribbon tail length! I also have another pro tip for you guys. I know making wreath frames can be a tedious task. I really don’t like making them so I just bought them because I’m at a point in my business where I can afford to do it. However, if you haven’t already, making your own wreath frame can save you some money! Just sit down in front of your favorite show and engage everyone.
