  • Electric Wax Candle (I used this from topqa.info)
  • Tissue
  • Ordinary white printer paper
  • Ice
  • Iron
  • Access to the printer
  • Candle graphics
  • Glue

Because I couldn’t see the entire candle, I decided to get a little artistic license with the project and come up with my own design. I took a bunch of runes and proper magic-looking characters online and edited them along with some old Salem Witch Trial woodcuts into a single, full-size image. my candle.Make your own real black wax flame candle from Hocus PocusCan you spot Lucifur, the Lord of the Bark with her full tail in this photo? You can download the complete file here or create your own. If you decide to use my file, just know that it has been scaled to fit the 3″ tall 6″ diameter pillar candles described above. Because tissue paper is so thin, you can’t just run it through your printer without it curling up and actually smothering the inside of your printer. To be able to print on it, you will first have to cut out a piece of about 1/2 ″ (I speak from an experienced… trust me on this) that is smaller on all sides than printer paper. your. If there are any large creases or folds in your paper towels, gently use a warm (not hot!) iron on top to smooth them out. The finer your tissue paper, the easier it will be to print. , you may have to run your paper iron again (I strongly recommend a second run with the iron). Once done, go ahead and carefully run the entire information through the printer as you would with a normal sheet of paper. Now is a good time to check to make sure it is also the right size for your candle.Make your own real black wax flame candle from Hocus PocusSpeaking of my candle, let’s take a quick break here and I’ll tell you all about the tree I chose and why. First, it’s electric, which means I won’t accidentally set the house on fire if I forget to turn it off. my fat ass can rest on the couch and I just need to push a button to get this thing to work. Wonderful! Third, it flickers and the little candle wobbles and I’ll be honest, this thing looks so…real! I left it on my desk and other people came up to me asking how I managed to get our boss to allow me to have an actual candle (they are an office must-have). ours.) When I showed them it wasn’t real, they were pretty for what it was!moanaaannnn! I’m here all week – tip your wait staff!) let’s get back to our DIY section. let it stick to your printer paper. Thicker printer paper gives the tissue stability when you turn sharp corners or cut details.) To give my candle an older look, I coated the tissue paper over it and then smoothed it out. it out before moving on to the next step. This is completely optional, you can use your glue stick to dab a few dots of glue on the back of the design and gently press it onto your candle. You don’t have to cover the entire section of hair, just to keep it in place in the next step. it’s on the highest setting. Using a sweeping motion, glide through your image with hot air. When melted, the wax will seep into the tissue paper and stick to the candle. You’ll be able to watch the tissue literally disappear like magic as the wax turns translucent. The idea is to melt the wax just enough for it to soak into the tissue paper. Too long and you risk melting your candle face. This is especially true if you are using a heat gun. Leave it too long, and you’ll end up with a puddle of melted wax tissue. you use, you may or may not take a dip where it was ‘lit’ before. Once I’ve done this dip, I’ve carefully trimmed off the excess tissue paper where it extends over the edge as much of the wax as possible using my Exacto knife. or use a hair dryer (or heat gun) to heat the wax and hold it over the tissue paper covered candle and let it drip down the sides. This is the art part! You can add as many or as few drops as you like. To create the ‘Black Flame’, carefully paint the fake flame of the candle first with gold paint, making sure you cover the entire flame. When it’s dry, paint only black in the center, painting the edges so it looks like the picture in the movie.
