How To Install T Handle Garage Door Lock

Here are instructions on how to install two of the most popular key assemblies we sell. The more common locking assembly uses a cable to connect the external keyed T-handle to the spring-loaded latch. The cable runs from the spring pin on one side through the center inside the release handle and on the other side where the track bolts and nuts secure the cable to the spring pin. On single car doors there is usually only one latch.Garage door lock assembly kit showing all parts.Meanwhile, the other system uses two chains and small S-hook to link the inner handle and spring latch. The parts for assembling the lock use chain and s-hook.If you have a foam-filled door with steel on both sides, the metal on each side will compress as you tighten the screws that hold the outside handle to the inside handle.
