Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer has arrived and it’s time to elevate your fashion game. Along with new weapons, 6-player activities, armor, story quests, and season passes, the much-requested armor transformation feature is finally here. In this season, players will team up with Fallen Captain Mithrax to prevent Vex from sending Earth into total darkness. Of course, what you care about is getting all those juicy spoils. Season 14 introduces a bunch of new weapons along with some old favorites for players to hunt down. One gun that is rapidly gaining popularity is the 720 RPM automatic rifle, the Chroma Rush.

Thankfully, farming in Chroma Rush is pretty straightforward, if a bit time-consuming. This is a seasonal weapon, which means it can drop when completing an Override operation, opening the Splicer Reputation pack, completing the Weekly Challenge, and decrypting certain concentrated Umbral Engrams. Similar to last season, players can complete specific Wins to unlock Spotlight in the Prism Recorder. Doing so will allow you to use Decrypted Data to turn a normal Umbral Engram into one with a higher chance of dropping the weapon you want. Specifically for Chroma Rush, Splicer Armory or Splicer Captain’s Armory are the two focuses you want to unlock. The former gives you a weapon from the seasonal pool, while the latter narrows your choice between Chroma Rush and Ignition Code.

There are many good perks available to Chroma Rush, which can make it difficult to narrow down the “best” objective combination. With that said, here are some great perks that you should look out for when using this weapon. In the first place, I recommend using Corkscrew Rifiilng to increase your Range, Stability and Handling. In the second slot, you’ll want the Tactical Mag or Extra to increase the magazine size of your weapon. If you specifically want to join a Feeding Frenzy scroll then look for the Add section as you won’t need to worry about increasing your reload speed. However, if you don’t want to reload a lot then Subsistence is the privilege you want. With the recently boosted perks, Subsidy is one of the best PVE perks in the entire game. Our second place should be Rampage or Kill Clip, but I wouldn’t recommend Subsistence with Kill Clip as they are a bit conflicting in functionality.

Similar to the PVE reel, there are a lot of good perks options for PVP players. However, with the current meta, we’ll need to increase the range as much as possible for this gun to be truly competitive. To do that, you’ll want Hammer-Forged Rifling or Corkscrew Rifling in the first position and Accurized Rounds in the second. Both of these will increase our range, allowing us to contest or puncture some lane defenders. While this won’t be abrupt against Dead Man’s Tale, it will certainly help within that 30-40 meter range. Since Chroma Rush has such a large magazine, we’ll greatly benefit from this perk when we’re trying to track fast-moving targets. Our second place would be Rampage or Thresh depending on what you’re looking for. Thresh can be great in Survival-focused activities, where getting your first Super can make all the difference. In contrast, Rampage is great for 6v6 modes, where you can stack damage. There’s also an argument to be made for Tap the Trigger, but I find that the gun is easy enough to control with Dynamic Sway Reduction. Read more: How to throw a gun faster and more accurately.
