No matter which way you cut it, meals with cute faces are cute! You should use these step-by-step instructions to get started with a slice of candy. These characters are so addictive and so quick to make that you can be determined to make the whole cake worth. Play with expressions, colors and overlays to create a confectionery character that is unique to you and always remember to have fun! Read: How to draw a piece of cake
1. Basic slice form
The key to drawing is to start with easy shapes. Draw a main piece of pie (or pie, in this case!). Do not forget that again need to be curved; most desserts are spherical, in any case! The truth is, don’t fret about creating superlinear distortions on the whole. It gives extra character to these curves. We will build on this simple form.
2. Add Frosting
Draw a line slightly below the top of the cake to make it appear to have a layer of frosting. Simply flip the cake over before burning it to create a unique frosting on top. I put a layer of fog in the middle because I feel the layered desserts are inherently cuter. You can add as many layers as you want!
3. Add Freeze
The little piping details are an easy and really cute approach to decorating your cake. Outline the small ellipses along the edge again and don’t worry about making them exactly the same; having them almost the same size is sweet enough. Personally, I wouldn’t spend more time painting them evenly than I would spending drawing them on an actual cake!
4. Tall With a cherry
A maraschino cherry provides a delightful touch! Draw a circle with a tree trunk. I put the slightly wrinkled element at the top of my trunk.
5. Erase the edges
The perfect element of cake painting is that it’s much less messy than baking a real cake. All the same, it’s time to clarify the outlines behind the pipe and the cherry. You can see it starting to appear in general!
6. Add a happy face
It’s time to attract faces! I chose a really completely happy face. A slice of cake like this could in all probability have too much sugar 24/7, so I wanted to attract a truly ecstatic expression.
7. Color the traces
I made the decision I wanted the color strains, so I picked the colors I wanted and did so. You may also find out that I modified the strains a bit. I made the layers look more individual by making them curve towards the matte finish and as usual, softened only a few corners to make it look more cakey and less like a block of wood.
8. Fill in
This step is pretty easy: Pick a lighter color of the strains and paint in the slice of cake!
9. Shade the piece of cake
Just add just enough shading to give the image a slight depth. The less complicated the shading, the cuter the character. I dot a little mirrored dot on the underside of the cherry just to make it look shinier.
10. Add Close Detail
I just made a few tweaks to the cake to bring it to life!
- Blushing for a piece of cake
- Shiny golden shine for cherries
- Sun spots in eyes
- Dots on cake for texture and vibrancy
- Focus on the mouth
It’s the little details that really make a big difference. Congratulations, you’ve completed your cute cake character! Now that you understand the method, why not draw it some links? There isn’t any end to the combination of flavors, toppings and toppings you should use to adorn your cake.
