What you need
Cloud comb
Toc styling gel
Olive oil
Hairclip
Rubber straps
Edge control
Step 1: Part of your hair
Start with freshly washed and condition hair.
Tidy your hair into a high bun and start parting it from the back.
Using a comb with a tail, braid a section of hair at the back of your head. Make sure your part is as straight as possible.
Then cut that part to get square sections of hair.
Step 2: Moisturize the first part
Apply olive oil or any oil of your choice to the part you took out.
Apply gel to that part, starting from the roots to the ends. Also, you want to add enough gel so that your hair feels super slippery all the way.
Step 3: Make your finger roll
Now, take all the hair from that section and twist it around your fingers to curl them together and create a single coil.
After rolling the entire length of the hair, tighten the roots so that they do not swell.
To curl the base of the finger rolls tightly, use one hand to curl your hair and also use the other hand to curl the bottom. This will eliminate sagging in the roots.
When you’re done, clip it in place with hair pins.
Step 5: Finger scroll other parts Read more: how to draw leopard skin step by step
Repeat the same steps for the rest of the hair.
Make square sections, apply oil and gel. Rotate each section around the finger, tightening the roots and clamping into place.
When you create square sections, don’t overlap them. As you pull your hair up, give them unequal sections.
Keep a spray bottle handy in case your hair is dry. For this style, it’s important to keep your hair wet as the moisture helps your curls form better and your hair into each other.
Step 6: Keep your coil taut
Once you’ve finished creating your finger rolls, divide them into two and tie them into a front and back ponytail.
Use an elastic band and tie the length of each ponytail. Natural hair tends to shrink easily and this technique will keep your curls as stretched as possible.
Tie a towel over the edge and let your coils air dry overnight.
Step 7: Remove the elastic band
The next day, remove the elastic and pin the hair out of the hair.
Extra tip: To keep your fingers silky smooth overnight, apply any conditioner like jojoba oil to your hair and scalp and cover with a satin cap. Use a carrier oil that moisturizes and adds shine to your hair. Read more: how to build a chicken coop door
