In practice, that means some real scrambling and a few late evenings, but it’s sure to all work out in the long run.How to create FLEX?I had only a few goals in mind at the outset – at the core of my mission, I needed to create a reusable item with a detachable sleeve with a comfortable carrying case. Aesthetically, I needed simplicity; there is no phrase or something printed on the product. I needed it to look modern and stylish. The form of the case is designed first. The motifs included in the sleeves have been designed after defining the case, to ensure that they can complement the appearance of the case, not compete with it.Were there many prototypes or variations during development?We’ve only created a few completely different prototypes using 3D printers, but they’re really not that different from the end result! I had a fairly transparent image in mind from the start, and we updated the final design pretty soon.What is the inspiration behind FLEX’s form?Origami! The way in which completely different folds create completely different shadows and shapes, and how these folds transmit and affect each other. I’ve done quite a bit with paper trying to give you the form.Who would you recommend FLEX to?I would recommend the FLEX to people who need something elegant and trendy – and especially to those who think adult toys are all graphic or plain looking.
