This is something I did subconsciously and I didn’t know until I made this tutorial. And this principle goes hand in hand with the asymmetry. Basically, if you shrink part of a face, you need to create some free space by “inflating” the rest of the face so it doesn’t shrink. The picture hopefully explains it:
