DIY Witch Shoes That Are Wickedly Cute For Halloween

So I combined the two to create these cute evil witch shoes to add to your Halloween Decor. They will freak your friends and family. They are so cute! Plus, I was amazed that they were easier than I thought, they just took a little time and patience. So let’s get started. Read: how to make witch shoesMy DIY Witch ShoesWitch shoesMy new witch shoes make a decoration in my house Find an old pair of witch shoes for your witch shoes First you need to find an old pair of witch shoes that you don’t want anymore. Or try getting a pair from a thrift store or garage sale. They don’t have to be black, but try to find some that are darker. Sweetcdesigns (where I originally got this great idea) made these shoes using brown shoes. They also work great.For each shoe, I cut out 3 long, thin triangles, one that looks like a bunny ear and one that looks like a triangle. Basically, you can cut the shapes however you want. It depends on what you are going for. Just be creative. Then I put each piece of cardboard in their proper place on the shoes.Shapes that I cut out to create the “fit” for my shoes. I probably wouldn’t use Scotch tape. Start with a long piece of tape and stick it across the toe of the shoe. Then keep adding tape. You can form cardboard as you go.My witch’s shoe glue is glued and ready to be painted. Apply a coat of Mod Podge Using a foam brush or regular paintbrush, apply a thick layer of Mod Podge. You’ll want to use the Mod Podge with a glossy finish because you’ll be applying another layer on top of the glitter. If you use matte, it won’t sparkle like that! Once you’ve applied the glue to your shoes, allow 20-30 minutes for the glue to dry.Mod Podge is smeared on my witch shoes. Plan your design and paint Now your shoes are ready to be painted. But before you dive in, I recommend drawing out what you want your shoes to look like. I have so many design elements that I don’t want to mess it up. Then start painting. I wanted some dots on the side, so I used a puncher to make some circles out of some self-adhesive white labels. Starting with one color at a time, spread another coat of Mod Podge and instantly coat your shoes with individual sparkles. Glitter can be really messy, so make sure you do it on a bowl. You will need to stamp your shoes with glitter. Otherwise you’ll have sparkles all over your house, although that might not be a bad thing :). To do this, take about a teaspoon of Mod Podge and about 1/2 teaspoon of water and mix them together. Then use glue to absorb each color one by one. Wait for it to dry and then you’re done!
