Contents

The original Crash Bandicoot featured six main boss battles, and each one has been recreated in the N.Sane Trilogy remaster of the game. Check out the best tactics to defeat each of them in our Crash Bandicoot boss guides below.

Crash Bandicoot – How to Beat Papu Papu

As the first boss in the entire Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, Papu Papu isn’t hard to beat. After slamming his hammer down he’ll proceed to swing it around the small arena. Simply jump over the swinging hammer and jump into Papu Papu. Repeat this five times and he’ll be defeated.

Crash Bandicoot – How to Beat Ripper Roo

Crash Ripper RooRipper Roo, a dangerous kangaroo, is fought on a floating grid of 3×3 platforms. Floating between them are TNT crates. Ripper Roo jumps around the grid, so Crash must stay out of the way and activate the TNT so it explodes and hurts Ripper. To the side of each row is a safe place that Crash can stand in without risk of being jumped on, so jump on a TNT crate then get out of the way and hope Ripper lands near the explosion. Land three explosive blows and Ripper Roo will be defeated.

Crash Bandicoot – How to Beat Koala Kong

Crash Koala KongKoala Kong can be defeated using the classic boss battle technique of using his own weapons against him. He throws massive rocks at Crash, which must either be spun into or dodged. Spin into them when the area to the side of crash is covered with TNT crates. Once the crates are gone, dodge out of the way of the incoming rock and wait for it to settle. Then spin it back into Koala Kong. Take your time and Koala Kong will be defeated in four hits.

Crash Bandicoot – How to Beat Pinstripe Potoroo

Crash Pinstripe PotorooCrash is a platformer, but this didn’t stop a bit of cover-shooting making an appearance. Pinstripe has a gun, so make sure Crash is behind one of the chairs at the front of the room whenever he’s about to fire. After each round of fire you can nip out and spin attack him. This works for the first three attacks. After this you’ll need to remain in cover until Pinstripe has trouble with his gun. He’ll get annoyed and hit his gun, and at this point you should hop out and spin attack him. After a total of six hits he’ll be defeated.

Crash Bandicoot – How to Beat Dr. Nitrus Brio (N. Brio)

Crash Nitrus BrioDr. Nitrus Brio will attack using two chemicals. When he throws out a green chemical it will land on the floor and turn into a green monster. Avoid where it lands and then jump on it to cause Nitrus to take a hit. When he throws out purple chemicals you should just avoid where they are going to land. After six hits he’ll drink some chemicals and turn into a Hulk-like version of himself.Once Nitrus has transformed he’ll slam his arms down and cause some concrete blocks to fall down. Wait for them to stop falling, then jump onto the one that remains. As Nitrus walks towards you, simply jump on his head. Do this three times and he’ll fall out of the window and be defeated.

Crash Bandicoot – How to Beat Dr. Neo Cortex

Crash Neo Cortex 1Despite being the final boss in the original Crash Bandicoot, Dr. Neo Cortex isn’t very hard to beat. He has one attack, which is to fire out purple orbs. These are deadly to Crash, so avoid them. Some will float across the screen after you’ve dodged them, so be careful. When he throws out a green orb, spin it back. Once you’ve done this a couple of times Cortex will take damage.Read more: Teaching Demonology, Possession, and Exorcism in Texas | Top Q&AOver the course of the Neo Cortex boss battle his attacks will increase in speed, so be careful, but the basics remain the same. Attack him five times and Neo Cortex will be defeated and you’ll have beaten the original Crash Bandicoot on PS4, Xbox One, Switch or PC.

Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back Boss Guide – Beat Every Boss in the N.Sane Trilogy

Crash Bandicoot 2 – How to Beat Ripper Roo

Crash Ripper Roo 2Ripper Roo returns in Crash Bandicoot 2, this time hopping around a large area and planting TNT and Nitro. He alternates between planting the two. No matter what he’s planting, avoid the areas where is there is TNT or Nitro. After all the TNT explodes nothing will happen, but after the Nitro explodes there is a brief period in which Ripper is vulnerable. Spin attack him then prepare for the next wave of TNT. Hit him three times and you’ll defeat Ripper Roo.

Crash Bandicoot 2 – How to Beat the Komodo Brothers

Crash Komodo BrothersThe Komodo Brothers work as a pair, but aren’t difficult to beat once you know how. The larger brother will remain in the centre and send his sibling spinning out to attack Crash. Simply avoid the spinning and then spin attack him back to his brother once he’s sat on floor recuperating. After each successful hit the central brother will throw out knives in an anti-clockwise circle. Just keep out of their way. Now repeat the attack using the spinning brother (once he’s recovering), and then avoid the knives once more. After two successful strikes there will be a combination spin and knife attack. Avoid the knives until the spinning stops, then perform one more spin attack on the recovering brother to defeat the Komodo Brothers.

Crash Bandicoot 2 – How to Beat Tiny Tiger

Crash Tiny TigerTiny Tiger is another boss in Crash Bandicoot that likes to jump around a 3×3 grid. Tiny follows you around, so the goal is to get him to follow you onto a platform that falls away beneath him. The platforms turn red and then flash when they’re about to fall, so time your jump to safety as he jumps on the platform. Get him to fall three times and Tiny Tiger is defeated.

Watch out as it moves up and down as well as across the screen. Phase 2 sees N. Gin firing missiles. Again, just stay out of their way by avoiding the red target zones on the floor. Following this he’ll fire a single missile at you that follows you around. Avoid and continue firing on the yellow area.In the final phase N. Gin will use a ray that makes platforms disappear. Crash Bandicoot 2 – How to Beat Dr. Neo Cortex

Crash N Cortex 2As a final boss for Crash Bandicoot 2, Neo Cortex is rather disappointing and very easy to beat. You must follow him through a series of rings, avoiding obstacles as you get up close. Crash N TropyDr. N. Tropy appears to be a rather tough boss to beat, due to his dramatic attacks, but he’s actually pretty simple as long as you stay calm. N. Tropy stands on a platform Crash can’t reach. Initially you must avoid his missile attacks and then his laser beams (just jump over them). Once you’ve done this he’ll open up a path to him. Jump over and then spin attack N. Tropy. Follow the same formula two more times and Dr N. Tropy will be defeated.

Crash Bandicoot 3 – How to Beat Dr. N. Gin

Crash N Gin 3Dr N. Gin’s boss battle in Crash Bandicoot 3 on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC gives off a few Star Fox vibes, and comes in two phases. Just keep firing at them until you’ve depleted his health, shooting any missiles out of the sky as they appear.Phase 2 isn’t drastically different to phase 1, although the mech has transformed into more of a spacecraft. Once again, target the yellow areas, avoid projectiles and shoot down missiles. Keep doing this and Dr. N. Gin will be defeated.
