Instant Pot Yum Yum Hen

Ever heard of yum yum sauce? I realized it not too long ago this summer when we were visiting our friends, they used to make fried rice for dinner. They serve fried rice with a bottled condiment called yum yum sauce. It’s like what the Utahans call “fried sauce” – a combination of ketchup and mayo that we serve with french fries. I tried it and love it! It is mainly a mixture of ketchup, mayo, rice vinegar, paprika and garlic powder. It’s a creamy sauce that tastes good when served with any type of meat. If you haven’t tried the yum yum sauce yet, you should be able to make your own simply with ingredients you most likely already have in your cupboard. skinless hen thighs. I discovered these at Costco and Sam’s Membership in the frozen section and similar to the modern one. My usual grocery store usually just has them in the modern section. I like to use the minimum amount of this meat in the Instant Pot and Pot as the hen stays moist and tender. If you happen to choose to use hen breasts, that’s a good thing. The meat shouldn’t be moist and tender, but it still works well. The cooking occasions will stay the same (until they are unusually thick and solid… I will increase the time by a few minutes). This hen and sauce tastes great when served over hot rice. You should use the pot cooking method to cook dinner with some white rice, jasmine or basmati at the same time. All you do is place a tall* trident on top of the hen. Then place a pan* with rice and water on top of the pan (for white rice, use a ratio of 1 cup rice to 1.5 cups water). I want to cover the pan with a lid and the rice will steam properly inside. I bought a large bag inside the freezer at Costco. It comes in a giant bag but has 4 or 6 smaller packs inside that you can toss in the microwave and steam for about 5 minutes. It’s an effective way to get veggies and really feel like you’re eating rice!
