Outdoor Candle Lantern Oversize Pickle Jar

I made these outdoor candle lanterns using large jars of pickles that I bought for $4.99 at the bulk food aisle at Walmart. They are filled with pickles. These bulk oversized jars are cheaper than buying a large Mason-style jar that costs about $14 each. How to make an oversized glass candle lantern

Required supplies:

  • Large Pickles or Mason Jar
  • 1/4 inch sisal wire or twine – enough to wrap around the jar.
  • Candle
  • Sand – 2 cups
  • Hot glue gun and glue
  • Craft knife or utility knife
  • Razor razor blade

1. Remove the label from the jar by submerging it in hot, scented water. Then use a razor blade to remove the stubborn parts. Place the jar on its side. Select one side as the back face.3.
