STEP 1: Wine Glass Holder Cut and Prepare!

Contents

I’m giving the tutorial as a Cricut Project – I’ve included a PDF sample if you need to create it with a pair of scissors but the real method is no other than the cut part. You can cut hard felt with the deep blade setting on your Cricut machine or with the rotary blade on your Cutter Generator. Sadly I can’t attach everything together to get the SVG file as a fabric label for you, but if I could that would be great!! So we have to go the other way. After you import your SVG into Design Space, make a copy of the shape so that the two will be cut out. Follow the rest of the prompts to cut shapes on your hard felt Read more: how to make a zip line without a tree Mark the lines is optional, but if you’re not comfortable with rotating it when with your whip stitch your pieces together, preferably pull out a ruler and mark where you want your stitches.Necklace for wine glasses 3

Step 2: Place Grommets on your Wine Glass Holder

Honestly, I bought a pair of grommet pliers about two months ago and never thought I would use them as much as I have. They are very convenient for pocket as well as grommet, well worth the purchase. Yeah, that means I messed something up or something else before I figured out the right way to fit the grommet in. So advice of the wise, read the instructions of your particular instrument before use. Maybe every time. Obviously, I’m not a how-to guide at this point! Maybe in a month or two.Necklace for wine glasses 4

Step 3: Sew the pieces of Wine Glass Holder together

In real life, I’m not a very good tailor. I think most things involve needlework, so I won’t go into the complicated needlework for these wine keepers. Use some embroidery floss to sew your pieces together as shown in this figure. I haven’t tried it myself, but I bet the hot glue works for assembling the pieces as well.Necklace for wine glasses 5Once you’re done stitching the stand, turn it inside out. Since needlework isn’t really my thing (but I’m crazy with glue guns!!), I’ll leave all that to your crazy imaginations. But show me if you do something extravagant!Necklace for wine glasses 7

Step 4: Dress up your wine glass necklace

15 min craft here! Go to your craft store and look for ready-made rosettes and stuff – they’re usually in the scrapbooking section. Glue one of those onto the seam with hot glue. (BTW, still love my cordless glue gun!)Necklace for wine glasses 10

Step 5: Tie on Ribbon

I used 46 inches of ribbon for the wine glass chain in the photo – but tailor that to your individuality. One end goes through each hole and you will tie it up. Cut the end of the ribbon at an angle or V for a nice finish.Necklace for wine glasses 12
