The Dremel tool is optional if you want to remove some finger grooves. But that is personal preference. An easy way to tell if you’ll benefit is if you get a dent where your finger hits the groove. How to Stiple

Let the soldering iron heat up for a while to get to the maximum temperature. I recommend testing it on a similar surface. Stippling Alternatives

Want something not permanent? I really like Talon Grips which comes in two flavors… sandpaper and rubber. Followed the instructions and I like to use a heat gun… aka a hair dryer to really warm up the wrap before letting it dry. as a concealed carry gun as it is less likely to get stuck to clothing.
