Why Is Ryanair So Cheap?
Ryanair is constantly in the spotlight for one reason or another. The airline offers cheap fares across Europe and a number of other routes. A frequently asked question is how the airline can make a profit from seats that sell for as little as £7.
A little background

Flights do not operate for free. In fact, most of the time Ryanair is losing money on its super cheap fares. I recently flew from Stansted to Frankfurt Hahn (remember that airport for later). The flight cost me a total of £6.99. In the UK, airlines are charged a fee by the government called the Air Passenger Tax. This is a tax that applies to each passenger on each flight. Currently for Ryanair the fare is £13 per passenger. Now I haven’t given Ryanair any money for this booking other than the £6.99 fare, so the airline has theoretically lost money on my ticket. The number one way the airline makes up for this fare shortfall is to charge for everything and at a premium. Get started with priority boarding and booking. It costs as little as £15 for an extra legroom seat with the airline. Priority boarding will set you back at least £6, totaling at least £21 for both services. It costs the airline anything to allocate you a seat or let you board first, meaning all proceeds from these extras go directly to Ryanair. 10. This includes bacon, white pudding, hot dogs, hash browns, tomatoes, bread, orange juice and coffee. Now that it costs the airline nearly that much to make that breakfast, the price has only been inflated for convenience. They may charge €3 for water, because they know you don’t have the option to get it anywhere else after you board. In fact, the airline will even charge its employees for water.
Crazy fee

Also, if you want to change flights, check how much the new flight sector costs to book. Flight change fee is £35 per person. Many of the cheap fares offered by Ryanair do not match this. With 130 million customers annually, the airline has to do something right. Ryanair also knows its travelers. It knows that people will need to travel for short periods of time, and as such can massively increase flight prices in the days leading up to flight departure. They do this because they know some passengers are on a business trip and don’t mind because the company is paying, while others have no choice but to travel.
Lesser-known airports
While the airline flies to some of the main airports, the majority of its flights operate to and from cheaper secondary airports. I mentioned the Frankfurt Hahn earlier. The airport is really in the middle of nowhere. In another state, federal to Frankfurt, it takes you two hours by bus to get to the city center. Other examples include flying to Dusseldorf Weeze and Brussels Charleroi Airport. At these smaller airports and most of the larger airports it serves, the airline refuses to pay to use the airport jet bridge. These are goods for which the airport usually charges an extra fee, and as such, Ryanair avoids them. In the case of Frankfurt International Airport, the airline opted to use remote stands and a bus service from the terminal, which takes 10 minutes to reach the plane. These parking spaces are significantly cheaper than station parking because they are considered much less attractive. Single aircraft type

In addition, airlines only need to keep parts in stock for one type of aircraft. It is the world’s largest operator of B737-800 aircraft and often receives substantial discounts from Boeing when ordering in bulk. Each airplane safety tag is affixed to the back of the front seat. This is another cost-effective way for the airline as they don’t need to be replaced as often. The single plane type also means that the crew only needs to be trained on one plane. Ryanair typically hires entry-level crew. These individuals have lower pay requirements and less bargaining power because they need experience. Free publicity
Ryanair intentionally does things to cause controversy. Why you might think that bad publicity will damage the brand of the plane, they see it quite the opposite. Whenever they appeared in a newspaper or on a website (including in this article), they were exposed for free. This means that the advertising budget for the airline is quite low. However, with fuel costs soaring, the airline may soon be forced to increase its costs. In fact, the £6.99 flight mentioned in this article is currently as cheap as £7.99.
