For support, we reached out to Tamas Kovacs (a contract graphic and icon designer) owner of @beardsandcats_official for some awareness and background information as the resident cat and set understanding beard. Although his IG feed only launched a year ago, it already has nearly 22,000 followers (at the time of this writing).

We had a few questions for Tamas about his general feed and here’s what he shared with us…Q: What was the inspiration behind starting it? (in different terms – why cats and whiskers?)Effectively, everyone loves cats. I did the same. I’ve noticed that a lot of my male friends want their cats to have fangs. At this point, the site is full of handsome guys hugging cute kittens tenderly, so guys and cats have become ‘one thing’ already. After trying out the footage, I was like, ‘Hey, what’s with all these bald boys? Why are they so over-represented among men? ‘ – because I’m also a proud bearded man (no offense to clean shaven men). I remember great, what happens here next: a daily website searching for guys with beards and cats has been saved to display Tumblr’s only results. And that’s it. I was very upset, and that eventually gave me the concept to start my own website – first on Fb, then Instagram.

Not long after, simply after I thought I had run out of content material, I started receiving submissions from my first followers. And of course, I used to be grateful, not simply because without them, I ran out of whiskers + cat scenes in a short time, however, my aim was to frequently point out individuals, with their reality – feline companions – not simply posing with cats in a composite setting.

It turns out that Beards and cats are definitely ‘one thing’, as the fan base has grown from dozens of followers to many and in 4 years hundreds. In the meantime, I even needed to say goodbye to some unpublished footage gathered from the Web, as I enjoyed dealing with the submissions I received. And after I started @beardsandcats_official on Instagram, the whole thing went automatic. I started posting the most liked Fb posts on the Instagram website, and as I believe possible, individuals have responded very positively. The Instagram website has grown more downloads (in a few months) than the Fb site in 5 years.

It really took me a while to figure out the answer to pointing out all of them, just like I did earlier when it was manageable given the popularity of 2-4 scenes per day. However I have discovered the best way. I publish 8 to 16 videos a day to Instagram Tales. They are uniquely proven for 24 hours, and viewers can decide (by voting) which submissions get to the next level: the Fb website. If Fb followers approve of the content, the submission will eventually be included in the Instagram feed, which is now a really valuable platform for “Instagram presence”.

His expertise can be put to great use in his online store called The Beards and Cats Retailer, where he sells shirts, mugs, hand luggage, pillows and more so more. By far his hottest design is called ‘Cat Dad’ And speaking of cat dad, we’ve tried to shrink the enjoyment area to a favorite picture but it’s always a troublesome name and subjective. However, we agreed with Tamas that one of our all high picks would definitely come from @sarperduman (pictured below).
