A Moroccan-American rapper who built an indie empire with his Cocaine City signature, French Montana rose from the New York underground mixtape in the 2000s to emerge as a hip-hop artist. understood pop music in the 2010s. The following year, Montana returned with its official second year attempt, Jungle Rules. The LP includes guests like Weeknd, Travis Scott, Pharrell Williams, Quavo, Future, TI and Young Thug. The lead single “Unforctures” with Swae Lee became a hit, topping the Billboard rap chart and climbing into the Top three of the R&B and lead singles list. The album itself, which was certified gold in the US, peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. In 2018, Montana teamed up with Diplo, Lil Pump and Zhavia Ward for the flamboyant single “Welcome to the Party” from the Deadpool 2 soundtrack, sending him back to the Hot 100. Additional single – “No Stylist” featuring Drake and “Slide” with Blueface and Lil Tjay – also chart hits, catapulted Montana into 2019.
