There are so many different patron saints that the United States of America could have decided upon. They have chosen a saint who is very popular with many countries of the world. decided to adopt The Virgin Mary (Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception) as their patron saint.
But what about St Tammany?
Recently, I noticed that I should also consider St Tammany, a Native American chief who founded Pennsylvania with William Penn. May 1 was decided as a day to honor this great man. However, there are no plans to make this date a recognized national day yet.

When is this special day?
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated by the Catholic Church on December 8.
