The 10 Richest Superheroes in Movie History

Some superheroes are known for their bravery, others for their struggle with the evil within while others remain incredibly strong. However, there are some heroes who might not have made it as far as they did if it weren’t for the one important thing, money. When it comes to super-rich superheroes, we all know Batman has billions and Iron Man is at least his equal, but who is number one? You will have to read on and see. We’ve ranked the top ten richest movie superheroes in order of their net worth. Sadly, while some of them are still qualified bachelors, they are all fictitious.

10. Aquaman Net Worth – Priceless

Contents

Aquaman is arguably the richest superhero of all time. Why isn’t he at number 1? That’s easy; we can’t really estimate his net worth. In addition to having a kingdom that occupies seventy percent of the Earth and all the resources there, he also has the priceless Atlantis. Technically, as sovereign ruler of the seas, he owned every shipwreck, shipping lane and minerals, plus all the seawater, oil, and fishing rights. Unfortunately, he cannot or will not enforce it, so he is honorably mentioned. *If you don’t count Aquaman, Janet VanDyne aka The Wasp weighs about a billion dollars, so she’d be the shortest on this list and the only female.

9. Charles Xavier / Professor X: $750 million – $3.5 billion

The infamous Professor X, founder of the X-Men and the Charles Xavier Academy for Gifted Adolescents, failed to capture Cerebro and the X-Jet with his good looks and charm. He also doesn’t get them with mind control, which is part of the reason why he’s on the hero list instead of the other side. Different-looking superhero with better brain Stephen-Hawking made money the old-fashioned way, by inheriting it.

8. Warren Worthington III / Angel / Archangel – $5 billion

He also tends to waver between good and evil, depending on the circumstances. However, because he spent a huge amount of money in the comics to sponsor superhero teams. We’ll sum it up and consider it ‘good’ despite his less stellar appearance in the X-Men franchise.

7. Mr. Fantastic – 5 billion dollars

It doesn’t matter if you love the 2005 Fantastic Four or the 2015 Fantastic Four. We enjoy both in their own time. At the end of the day, Mr. Fantastic is one of the highest-paid superheroes to ever live, but he didn’t make the top 5. He didn’t make a lot of things, like enough time for a wife and a life. So maybe it was fitting that he landed somewhere mediocre despite having an extraordinary brain.

6. Ozymandias – 7 billion dollars

While we fully accept that the final Ozymandias is downright evil, he is a hero, and rich when the Watchmen begin. It was a tough call for him to be on this list, but he technically qualifies. That shows, Ozymandias has become more or less a hero in the eyes of fans. We won’t give him more than this: He made the list.

5. Richie Rich – 8.9 billion USD

No one said they would all be Marvel/DC crossovers. Richie Rich has saved the day so many times, and he doesn’t even have superpowers. He’s full of money, good friends, and loyalty, which makes him more remarkable than anyone else on this list. Like heroes in movies, perhaps the comedic, childlike hero will never be the most popular. It’s okay. He can still buy whatever he wants to make himself feel better about it.

4. Scrooge McDuck – $65.4 billion

Scrooge McDuck has always saved the town and even the world with nothing but his cane, his nephews, his servants, and his money. We’re not sure if he has a useful superpower, but he seems to have two that we can identify. First, he has an uncanny connection to his money and always knows when it’s at risk. Second, he can swim through gold. Treasure of the Lost Lamp is a bit more about Indiana Jones than the Avengers, but it’s a feature-length movie nonetheless.

3. Bruce Wayne / Batman 9.2 – $80 billion

While he’s probably the first person that comes to mind when it comes to rich superheroes, Batman barely makes the top 5 if we include Aquaman. Sure, he fought everything from gods to dinosaurs to alcoholism and literally won. However, he always has his comfortable billions of dollars to rest when he needs downtime. Batman’s saving grace is that money is just a means. His detective skills and ability to inspire loyalty from everyone from Alfred to the Joker are what give this broken bat its true strength. Although exact estimates of his wealth vary widely, it is of the highest tier.

2. Tony Stark / Iron Man 12.4 – 100 billion USD

Like Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark is a wealthy playboy with too much free time and nowhere with enough supervision. Unlike Bruce, he has finally settled into a good life with a good woman who is probably smarter and certainly more knowledgeable and happier than he has ever been. (Don’t remind us of Bruce Lee’s ill-fated and short-lived wife, who is actually a vegetal and therefore not legally qualified to sign a marriage agreement. She doesn’t count.) Iron Man fans will defend the case to the end, but the truth is his super powers are his massive brain and an oversized ego. Just like Bruce, estimates vary, but suffice it to say, they would hang out with the same gold diggers if they were neighbors.

1. T’Challa, The Black Panther – $500 billion or more

We know this will surprise some people, because not every fan of comics loves every comic. Black Panther is valued at around ninety-seven trillion dollars. That was perhaps an underestimate for the technology of his nations and their supply of the rarest mineral on earth (Vibranium). If Wakanda wanted to rule the world, it would be T’Challa’s planet. It’s just that simple. Fortunately for the others, he is not only kind, but a hero with more sense and care than any other leader on earth.

Epilogue

If knowledge is power, now you can afford to write your own manga based on some rich heroes. The relative wealth of supers is very interesting to read because real world technologies don’t limit them. If we have a few billion in or vaults, you can bet we’ll be out there in the original Batmobile, trying to crack some criminals if not. We are not the only ones. Sports heroes in real life costumes have more than once saved this day. It’s nice to know there’s also some caution about tights here in the real world, but that’s a whole different article for another day.
