Fans try to separate art from artists after scandal

UP graphic by Cade Smith Last year, I wrote an article about one of my favorite PokéTubers, TheKingNappy, being outcast by the Pokémon community for grooming his friends and forcing them to have sex with him. ta. I was devastated about the whole situation and thought I would never be able to enjoy the Pokémon game content again. I don’t even watch any of the PokéTubers or their content because I feel like it doesn’t look like me. The only way I stay up to date with Pokémon news is through Facebook groups. Following his disqualification, Nappy took to Twitch to respond to the allegations, and it appears he will no longer be creating content or streaming. I thought to myself, “What if he comes back?” or “Will he ever apologize for his actions, and if so, will the community forgive him?” I received my reply on Christmas Eve. I looked down at my phone and saw the familiar purple logo from the Twitch app saying “TheKingNappy is live on Twitch: Stick and Kick Pokémon,” and I immediately thought this was a bug on Nappy’s end. or Twitch is having problems with its servers. Read more: Where was asbestos found in cars Nappy began his comment more than 24 minutes into his live stream after playing the music, with an audio clip of a guy saying: “I’ve been convicted , my whole life has been turned around I’ve lost all my jobs I’ve lost everything I’ve lost all my opportunities I can’t buy a car, can’t afford the rent, can’t none of that. But I’m still a survivor. I’m still going to court with a smile.” Then the audio was cut off and Nappy played “What You W Don’t Do For Love” by Nappy. Bobby Caldwell, and I said to myself, “Yes, Nappy, I was wondering where you were.” Then Nappy finally spoke and said, “Hello boys and girls. Hi everyone. Poppin’ what?” I was definitely shocked because it was a voice I hadn’t heard in over nine months.Nappy explained that he was sorry to have been gone for so long, and that he was sorry for the people His fans and supporters have endured the TV series followed him. Nappy promised that he would address the film in a separate video later. Nappy also apologized saying he had a lot of problems in his life or he would have come back sooner. Nappy then started playing the new Pokémon game and stayed live on Twitch for over two hours before shutting down the stream. In my mind, I’m thinking the same thing that many others are probably thinking – “Why doesn’t he bring the charges, or at least tell his story?” Almost a month later, Nappy returned to YouTube with a new alias of “Nappy,” only to post a live stream on Twitch, which he split into sections that he uploaded for most of that week. Along with posting the live stream, he also posted a brand new series of Pokémon on his channel on day one. As of Monday, he was still posting the video and made no mention of the allegations. The deciding factor I consider Nappy is that he has a personal life and a YouTube life, and the two shouldn’t come together. We should separate art from artists. There is no evidence Nappy had sex with the people who played with him and accused him of forcing them into the relationship. It seems that they are virtual relationships. Still, I feel he’s learned his lesson and won’t be around minors anymore – but who knows except Nappy. He is innocent until proven guilty, and I will continue to watch his stuff.
