Years ago, my son’s Sunday School Teacher did this with his class for an Easter Craft. I absolutely love this idea, and I know you all do too.

‘For those of us celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the use of nails as a cross necklace carries the meaning behind it.
When I first posted this craft, I didn’t actually craft it myself. I just go through the example I have to explain the process. This time, I come out with a purchased supply to make it a more specific guide for you.
Here’s What You’ll Need for Your DIY Religious Easter Crafts…
You will probably need:
- 4 (2 inch) Masonry Cut Nails – the ones shown are (2 inches)
- Leather or hemp strap – about 24 inches (leather is more comfortable on the back of the neck)
- Line Roll (I recently discovered that the glue dots now come in rectangular 1-inch pieces. You can also use the original circles, but I really like the way the glue strips fit snugly against the line roll.) the edge of the nail perfectly)
- Optional – jewelry cord
- Low temperature glue gun and glue

- take 2 of the nail clippers and place them facing each other
- *Note that they are “not” perfectly aligned at the ends. This way the nails will be better shaped on the necklace
- Use glue dots to secure them in place
- Do it again with another pair of Nail Clippers
- Now make 2 pairs of nails into a cross shape
- Use a dot of glue to hold them together
- Take a leather or hemp rope, and in the center wrap a loop diagonally around the center of the cross
- Secure with a knot at the back
- Now, start wrapping the middle of the cross alternating with pieces of hemp rope around the intersection of the crosses
- When you’re done, tie a knot in the back on top of the X you made with hemp rope
- *Another option is to take the jewelry string and wrap it around the necklace so it can reach the tip of the nail and secure the nail with the wire at the top
- Put a necklace around your neck or use someone else as a model
- Find the perfect spot to tie a knot on your hemp rope to form a loop large enough to pull in and out of your head with ease.

- Use a low temperature glue gun for any unsafe spots
