In this life, we often suffer for a while, especially if we are persecuted for our faith. The world has fallen, and God has patiently left the hand of judgment to all who will be saved to enter His Kingdom first. the whole of creation (Romans 8:18-23). We groan as we wait, and we feel hostility to our message and our way of life in Christ. But nothing can really harm us, because nothing can separate us from the love of God. Whatever hell is thrown at you, you can face it with confidence, because God is your good Father, and He loves you. Fear of God is the antidote to fear of anything else. As we mature in faith and mature, we experience more and more peace and trust from God. The truth is that we can face anyone and anything because we stand not on our authority but on God.

Our default is to say nothing when we are oppressed, and so be like our Lord. What good is self-defense when you already have God as your protector? We have nothing to justify but are sometimes called to testify to testify to who Jesus is; In that moment, trust the Holy Spirit to give you the word (Mt 10:19).#2 “… to meet these?” What Paul wrote mainly about what we will say to ourselves and to each other about the sufferings, especially the persecution, that we will face in this life from unbelievers and the fall of the world. It is powerful to realize that we don’t need to say anything because we know that God is for us, that He loves us, and that He will be our protector. Whether we face “difficulty, or tribulation, or persecution, famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword” (Romans 8:35), it doesn’t matter because we have Christ, and in Christ we have everything.#3 “If God is for us, who can be against us?” We know that God is for us because He sent His only Son to die for us and redeem us from the sin and rebellion that once separated us from God. But now, because of Christ, none of these “things” can separate us from God, because He has proven that He is “for us.” Therefore, we have no real competitors. Let us be hated, it makes no difference to us who are loved by God. We can even return love to hate because God has raised us above the world and whatever it can do for us.
